Mechanical Estimator

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of mechanical systems in construction projects, including HVAC and plumbing. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge and project management skills to ensure that projects are bid effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Review contract documents and specifications to determine project requirements
Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing
Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project budgets
Collaborate with project managers to develop accurate project timelines and workflows
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Prepare and submit bid proposals in a timely manner
Monitor project costs and perform adjustments as necessary
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and project changes
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members to clarify project specifications and requirements

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Proven experience as a mechanical estimator in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and plumbing
Familiarity with construction cost analysis and bid preparation
Excellent project management and time management skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimations
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite
